• Dating of Puranic Dynasties based on the facts & logics :

• Satavahana Dynasty : •Reign : ( 24th Century BCE – 19th Century BCE)

Coin during time of Andhra Dynasty.

• Reasons for Dating the Dynasty in antiquity :

• Facts from various Purans :

• In Matsya Puran, it’s mentioned that Andhra’s started to rule over the Indian Subcontinent after 836 years of Maha Padma .

• In the same context , it’s mentioned that from Parikshit Maharaj to Mahapadma their is a time gap of 1500 years. So, our researchers considered both the name as one andidentified it as Maha Padma Nanda. Their our researchers made an error.

° Error of Considering Maha Padma as one person:

•Actually, both the names are same but both are different personalities. It proved by the fact that Matsya Puran mention Maha Padma’s reign of 88 years whereas Vayu Puran mention that his reign was only 28 years . From this we can infer that the Matsya Puran mention about two persons not one person.

° Relating with Vayu Puran:

• Vayu Puran also mentions that Andhra Dynasty started ruling over the Indian Subcontinent when the Ursa Major ( Saptarishi) was near to Nakshtra Svati ( Arcturus). It comes in 24th Century BCE, which is 3100 after Mahabharat War.

Sky around 2354 BCE.

• Conclusion :

1. So, Satavahana Dynasty must be ruled over the Subcontinent in 24thCentury BCE for atleast 500 years.

2. As 836 years of time gap between the Maha Padma & Andhra Dynasty is mentioned, so it’s possible that Matsya Puran is mentioning about the Maha Padma Nanda who ruled for 28 years.

3. Explanation of Above Statement :

• The reason for above Statement is that Nanda’s ruled for 100 years, Maurya’s ruled atleast 300 years . Shunga’s also ruled around 300 years and Kanavas ruled around 85 years.

• So, the difference is justified. Since 9 Nanda Rulers ruled for 100 years so the Maha Padma who ruled for 28 years belongs to Nanda Dynasty.

• While, the Maha Padma who ruled for atleast 88 years maybe belongs to Haryanka Dynasty.

• Dating of Other Puranic Dynasties of Post Mahabharat Era :

•By this we can get the timeline of some dynasties as per time period mentioned in Puranas. They are as follows:

• Shishunaga Dynasty

Coins at times Shishunaga Dynasty.

Reign : (38th Century BCE – 32nd Century BCE)

• Nanda Dynasty :

Prints of Inscription of Nanda Era.

Reign : (32nd Century BCE – 31st Century BCE)

• In the Inscription of the Licchavi King Mana Deva of Nepal , it’s mentioned that Nanda’s started their rule after 2300 years of Kaliyug have already passed. From this we can date Nanda Dynasty around 32nd Century BCE.

• Maurya Dynasty:

Reign : (31st Century BCE – 28th Century BCE)

• Shunga Dynasty:

Reign : (28th Century BCE – 25th Century BCE )

• Kanava Dynasty : Reign : ( 25th Century BCE – 24th Century)
